The owners of the unique collection of ancient bicycles in Latvia, Saulkrasti, Guntis and Janis Seregins should be proud of having this amazing museum - private collection! Collection of bicycles dates back to the 1977 and celebrated 35 years anniversary in May 2012. The collection consists of technically most interesting samples of bicycle development history found in Latvia until World War II. You will be amazed by one of the first Latvian made highwheel bicycle, a wooden bicycle produced in a VEF workshop of sports airplanes by Karlis Irbitis - well known at that time Latvian aero-constructor. Apart from bicycles there are many different things related to cycles, cycling, societies and bicycle production. Heaven for vintage lovers! Besides, Saulkrasti Bicycle Museum is biggest Bicycle Museum in Baltics and having about 5000 visitors every year.

Wealth and Detail of Proud Latvian Bicycle Manufacturing
I heard about this museum before visiting Latvia, and made a special trip to go see it. I was so pleasantly surprised by this small, but well-organized, and richly-packed museum. Displayed are bikes from many Latvian bicycle manufacturers (Erenpreis, Ozolnieks, Omega) plus a few unique bikes made from wood, one of which was designed by an airplane engineer. There are so many extras in this museum, including some history of great Latvian cyclists, wonderfully detailed pins from races and bicycle clubs, a small area that talks about the bicycle unit in the Latvian army, and so much more. A lot of the signs are in Latvian, but the woman at the museum spoke English, and explained a lot to me in English. If you are in Riga, take a trip north on the train, spend time at the beach, visit the museum, grab a bite eat, and go back to the beach again!

best bicycle museum in the Baltics
Amazing collection of old bicycles and all kind of things connected with bikes. Specially nice collection of different manufacturers name plates and really nice old school bike shop interior. Price is only 1 LAT (around 1.5 EUR) and as it is family run it is nice and homey. It is nice small city and museum is on the Riga side of city, there`s nice small bike track on the way and sign to indicate the museum location
