Little Versus Big...or is that 'Original'
The irony here is that it's "little" Lake Boort that is central for the town. At first I struggled trying to understand how the lakes lay in the region, but finally I realised there is a defining line between them... there is a road that divides the 'little' from the 'big'. The road is Ring Road. The Ring Road goes around Little Lake and alongside and thus dividing the bigger lake.
This lake is stunning by the way... if you visit Boort , you really must see it. It reminds me a little of Lake Boga... but it's smaller I believe. The lake has caravan parks around, children's parks, BBQ areas and walking tracks.
So whether this is your ultimate destination, or part of a journey... you really should make time to stop and look around.

Enjoy relaxing by the lake
Great place to stop and have a picnic or bbq when your exploring boort . Great place for skiing as the lake is not too deep and or just a casual walk on its walking track- look out for the sculptures when touring the lake

Pleasant lake walks
Little Lake Boort seems quite big, with the walk around it extending 3.7km. It is a tranquil journey if you go first thing, before it gets too hot. On my walk I saw many water birds, corellas, swallows, parrots, pelicans, and the like. I did like all the steel sculptures and it was good to see picnic tables and public toilets.

An Oasis....................
What a lovely lake, right in town, and with water...
Stopped for morning tea by the lake and with the sun reflecting off the mirror like surface, it looked picture perfect . Clean rest rooms and plenty of parking.
