    Lovely place for a walk
Took my wife and our newborn to visit lilydale lake as I spent much of my childhood playing there. The playground has been revamped and there’s a great (very popular) water play area too. We went for a walk around the lake which is about 2.5km there’s some shaded seats on the way to stop and enjoy the view of the lake. Just as I remember from many years ago there was an ice cream truck there, not cheap as they never are ($6.50 for a basic choc dipped single cone) but it was a nice treat on a warm day. There was a coffee truck too which is always a win! We will be take the kids back next week so they can have a play!

Stunning man made lake park grounds!
The Lilydale Lake was completed in June 1990 and covers 28000m2 within a 100000m2 park. The main dam wall spans 440m with an average water depth of 3m. There is a huge play ground, fishing sections and lots of great flat walkways to explore new this wonderful lake and surrounding park. Parking is easy and best done in the East side of the lake near the play ground and all other amenities. There is more work in progress and for anybody living nature, even though helped along by us humans a great place to visit.
