Drive out towards Corowa until you come across a boardwalk on your right side. Go early morning or an hour before sunset if the weather is calm. Great place to get photos of the lakes sunken forest and listen to the variety of bird life.

Spectacular to see the lake empty
We were initially disappointed that the lake was being drained before our planned visit, but once we saw it we realized how spectacular it was. It is well worth visiting just to see the lake empty as it took on a Moon-scape appearance. We also learned more about the lake formation history from locals and it was amazing to see the trees and stumps that exist under the water when the lake is full.

    Picturesque lake in Yarrawonga.
This lake is magnificent! We stayed in the Yarrawonga Motel over looking the lake and from the top balcony we watched the beautiful sunrises. Part of the lake has standing red gums and are a habitat for fish. Did the cruise on the paddle steamer which is the only way you can see the lovely waterfront houses. Managed to catch several small fish which is good fun.
