Lovely Lascelles
We stayed 1 night at the Hopetoun Caravan Park by Lake Lascelles, on our way to S.A. It is such a beautiful location with clean amenities. There are powered & unpowered sites, free sites by the lake & at $25 per night for a powered site, we were rather pleased to have chosen this place. Highly recommend it. The town is lovely too.

Watching turtles, ducks, heron and pelicans. Next to the lake is a little duck pond called willow lake quaint little jetties and seating. Really pretty campsite around the lake, algal bloom caused the lake to go green so no swimming. There is a local IGA, newsagents with caravanning supplies ie toilet Chem, bakery, some lovely old buildings, didn’t come across any indigenous history, it’s just a lovely spot

Large and brilliantly blue
This is a mecca for walkers, swimmers, boating enthusiasts, bird watchers and fishermen, and has beautiful clean water from the Grampians Wimmera Mallee pipeline, which means there is future reliability that the Lake will always have water. My Uncle and I stopped just to have a break and stretch our legs... not long after getting out of the car a happy looking dog ran towards me. The owners soon put it on a leash although it's doubtful the dog would have done anything to me other than expressed it's delight at having a stranger pay it some attention... I did appreciate the thoughtfulness of the owners. The lake is quite beautiful... there are BBQ facilities (undercover) and toilets nearby. There are information boards and also tin-art here. It's a lovely place to stop to stretch your legs and if I was a caravaner I would want to stop here on the edge of the tranquil lake.
