Goldfields Reservoir, Victoria, Australia

4.0 (14 reviews) Spent Ranking #5 in Maryborough Bodies of Water

Nice Place.

Enjoyed a short stroll here, very peaceful surrounds. Seems very popular with the locals? QUESTION: Why is the roadway direction the wrong way around? Not only were we confused, but we also witnessed two other vehicles come into the area the wrong way around[according to traffic paint on the road]. Most roads and car parks operate in a clockwise direction!! Surely, we are NOT American!

    Nice little Circuit
I work up this way on a semi-regular basis and have stopped on the roadside to stretch my legs on occasion, but just recently ventured to the carpark and launching-ramp area. Although we are currently hobbled by Covid restrictions, there is a tidy wee seating/picnic area and no issues with walking the well-formed perimeter track. Opportunities for fishing and boating I see, and although not a giant body of water, is nice to have the luxury of such articles on the edge of town.

A Small Reservoir To The South
It is about 1.5 KM around and was built in 1852 as the water supply for Marryborough and is now used for recreation and fishing and has some walking tracks and a cafe. Better than no water but not that special.
