Lots to see, not just pottery

I recommend doing the interpretive tour if visiting for the first time it is very interesting. Also if the lovely lady at the glass beads shop is making beads make sure you go in, very informative and friendly. Beautiful works as well. Antique area also nice to visit.

    A visit is highly recommended!
So pleased to visit Bendigo Pottery as their products have been around for many, many decades! The complex is clean, well set out, easy to move around and the staff were all lovely, particularly Tracey on the front counter. There is a cafe on site as well and plenty of free parking. In the pottery there is a potter you can watch at work and there are lots of lovely pottery pieces to browse. Next door is an awesome Collectables market where we found many treasures but had to narrow it down to just a couple! We stopped in at the studio of artist, Joan Harris, to whom we had a great chat. Really liked her collages. We also stopped at the Goldfields Providore run by Jeff Hooley who was very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed to see the Glenwillow Wines shop was not open. Highly recommended! There is no entry fee either!

    Messy fun
We signed up for a half hour session on the pottery wheel as a family, $20 each. Got to make two items each with the assistance of a potter & then choose if we wanted to get the. items glazed and fired. (extra cost). Was heaps of fun, a unique, possibly once in a lifetime experience. The decorating class looked interesting too, maybe on our next visit to Bendigo!
