Stunning place

LOVED staying in Arabba for Feb half term with 15 year old son. Pretty village and great access to the slopes. You can head out easily on the Sella Ronda in either direction. Gorgeous views from the refuges on the surrounding hills - especially Burz. Also great access out to the glacier at Marmalada. Good selection of restaurants in the village - Mikys grill was AMAZING. Pizza 7 Sal was also fab. Definitely considering going back !

Ski safari with Davide and Simon Italy
If you are thinking of skiing Italy , I would recommend these guys who are based in Arabba in the Italian Dolomites North Italy We had a wonderful week of skiing from Arabba to corvara to many other fields and the salubrious Cortina We would ski with guides in 2 groups and the scenery was amazing The sheer peaks of the mountains combined with beautiful lunches in Austrian and Italian restaurants on the mountain plus food company from Guides and other skiers was phenomenal We attended après ski with wild Croatians dancing to traditional folk pop music We saw caves and tunnels built by warring Austrian and Italian soldiers and were dragged by harnessed horses over flat trails .the Italy Austrian history and conquest is fascinating If Bombardino And aperto drinks and Weiss beer interest you these flow like the mountain streams . Funicular rides initially scary but v safe . There's an Austrian pudding called Germ Knudel that is a must try. When in Venice airport with 3 hours to spend we jumped on a beautiful lake boat style water taxi from airport and ran around Venice in the snow . Drop off at Rialto Bridge walk to st marks square and avoid queues ( none of the queues are ever worth it ) Ok enough said I think called "arraba holidays" Guides Davide and Simone ( v cool and nice guys ) We hired skis etc and was all v easy Ski level ( intermediate to advanced ) Cost probably for 5 of us about 10k Kiwi Other recommendation Lufthansa economy on the A380 (huge leg room , good service ) Prem economy and business a waste of money unless you are rorting tax system . Snow level perfect( always enough due to snow machines ) Temperature 3 to - 5 degrees ( water standard thermals 1-2 layers and jacket Ok do it Nick

    Gorgeous village and wonderful skiing!
We returned to Arabba in 2016 for the second time. It's a beautiful traditional mountain village, with a church and a couple of shops and bars. The skiing in the area is excellent - skiing round the Sellaronda (in particular in the more interesting orange direction) is a fun day out - with time to try slopes off the main route if they catch your eye. The route is well-marked, and an excellent selection of blues and reds. Alternatively Marmolada offers breathtaking views and a beautiful wide red all the way down. Lovely meals on the slopes are reasonable for skiing resorts (esp versus France) - eg €20 for a substantial bowl of pasta and beer/wine for two. The visitors are an amazing mix of nationalities, tend to be skiers not boarders, and a slightly older/family crowd. The slopes weren't too busy when we were there, and everyone was courteous, friendly and considerate. Only advice from the UK - we travelled with Crystal this time, who disappointed us by offering no rep interaction apart from at the airport. Other companies (eg Inghams) throw in free guiding, loads of advice and help throughout the trip with on site reps, and days out to eg the hidden valley - do your research if you don't want to be disappointed.
