Educational

A nice tour including so called Show Room, boat trip to the farm and snorkeling and visit to the hatchery. The woman guide (sorry forgot her name) was excellent and provided a lot of information. Unfortunately the tour was rushed as some people were half an hour late. Eventually the technician went for lunch and the last part was smashed. We liked to see all the nice houses on the hill while on the boat, something you won’t see from the road. Overall a nice educational tour

    Informative and worthwhile
The powerpoint presentation gave you information to fully understand the process. We saw firsthand the implantation of the nucleus done by professional who come for 3 months each year to Savusavu especially to do this delicate process. Mili answered all questions and than took us by boat to the farms out in the water. We were able to snorkel to get a clear impression of the labour intensive expertise that is need to produce world grade black pearls. These were the best we have seen travelling the south pacific on our sailboat over the past year

    Beautiful Pearls, but very expensive
I was really looking forward to visiting the Pearl Farm, but was pretty let down. The showroom is very small and everything is very expensive - I think the least expensive item (Other than loose pearls which go for $50 USD each) was around $350. The waters were choppy that day so we didn't get to actually see the pearl farm, which was disappointing. Beautiful jewelry if you don't mind dropping a pretty penny. Was not worth my precious time in Fiji though.
