IN this museum you get to see how the sugar cane business has evolved and industrialized going trough how sugar cane used to be extracted with wooden tools to more advanced windmill techniques amongst other curious and interesting facts surrounding the industry as well as the region.

Encounter with nature and history
This museo is located in Amaime, a semi rural town one-and-a-half hours north of Cali city. we paid an Uber driver $7/hour to take us and wait. There’s no public transport to the place but we also saw tour buses. Admission was about $4 and then you give a voluntary tip to the guide who explains the process of sugar cane crop, extraction and sugar/panels production as used in the 19th century. All of this while walk-in over 1 km through a tranquil and well maintained botanical gardens with 450 varieties of plants. Highly recommended for all ages including elderly people on wheelchairs as there is a paved walkway throughout. The tour takes an hour and you can buy honey and sugarcane products. Very interesting
