Worth the climb in the end!

After visiting the plaza and going inside Valencia Cathedral we decide to queue for the bell tower and make the 207 step climb to the top. Luckily we were at the front of the queue when we went up so had a bit of a head start taking the spiral stair case which does feel like its never ending and is quite the exercise so I would warn those who might struggle with the challenge. Once arriving at the top we were amazed by the 360 views of the city with plenty of photo opportunity's. There is a traffic light system to know when you can go back down as there is just the one staircase and at 2 euros each it it definitely a must!

    Hard Climb But worth it
The tallest bell tower in Valencia cost €2 to climb to the top. Its a long and hard climb and takes about 10 to 20 minutes. The climb is well worth it has you can practically see the whole city from here. You can see the docks, the City of Arts and Science, Valencia Stadium and the nearby mountains, plus many of Valencia's historic sites and many other bells towers. From here you can really see how big Valencia is, and I got to say its a large city, one of the biggest I've been to.

    One HELL of a climb!
Costing only two euros to enter, this is a seriously challenging spiral challenge. The stone steps are quite worn but are regular in height: thankfully there is an iron handrail on the outer side. A flag system is meant to ensure that climbers don't meet descenders but this doesn't always work out...which makes for squashed meetings. I counted 203 steps but apparently there are 207 to the top. From here there are wide-ranging views across the Old City but it would have been much more informative has there been a toposcope or written names of scenic buildings nearby. I was quite proud of my old legs and lungs succeeding in doing the climb but somewhat mortified to learn that some brave fool had actually ridden his motorbike down all 207 of the narrow spiral steps!
