    Lovely iron works setting
I visited the Stromforsin Ruukki last week and it was a lovely place. The iron works setting was beautiful with the surrounding river and old buildings. Little cafes and shops around with local handicrafts. The church is worth to visit Just a lovely place.

Beautiful place but worst service ever at Mylly restaurant
A serene setting to enjoy but apparently way too small a place to have decent services available? Ravintola Mylly to be avoided at all cost. Completely unprofessional, overpriced and with a bad attitude. Arrived there to have a stroll and a quick and hopefully tasty light lunch. The latter proved impossible. The first place had no cold storage for edible items, the second's 12€ "salad bar" had like three items and the third was an all time low. We went in Ravintola Mylly to ask if seats were available at the terrace. We were brought menus and water and so far so good. We checked the menu very fast, being hungry and on a schedule and ordered a starter plate (for 2) to be shared. The waitress nodded and went away so we thought we made an order. After 20min when the plate had not arrived we inquired her whether it was soon to come, and she replied yes. After 30min finally another waitress came to the table and asked for our order. We told her, already annoyed, that we already ordered and have been for half an hour. She told us that the person we had ordered from is "not a waitress, but just a dishwasher" plus "very young". Well, I don't know how old you must be to understand the basics of communication and a service attitude, but having people wait for half an hour just to make their order while picking up plates is hardly professional either. No compensation or real apologies offered, let alone taking responsibility (rather than blaming the client for the restaurant's mistakes!) and a valuable half hour ruined on our only summer trip Sunday made it really not worth going to that place ever again. Blaming a happening the previous day is not a valid excuse either, and "being the only waitress" is hardly the customer's fault. That said, since we left still hungry we had friendly service from a waffle booth nearby and one cafe left untested so the area is not in boycott, just the one restaurant. I have heard good stuff about the bed and bistro, next time there perhaps l, if there ever is one.
