Excellent zoo- do not miss the Winter Lights
Ouwehands Zoo is an older type of zoo but nevertheless a very pleasant one. The main attraction are of course the panda bears- we were lucky, they were awake and relatively active when we visited. The design of their cages is quite clever- visitors have a view from the top which means animals are relatively less disturbed by them. We had a combination ticket that included entrance to the Winter Lights in the evening. The stroll through the lit up zoo after sunset was really magical, both old and young enjoyed it a lot. The zoo has a decent size and the indoor playground is great for cold or rainy days. We will certainly be back.

Great zoo with plenty of animals
On first impressions walking in you think its a small local zoo but once in it expands out to a much bigger and very well kept zoo with lots of animals to see. Most enclosures are clean and relatively large for the inhabitants though a few (polar bears) could do with a refresh. Would have given it 5 stars but a couple of the restaurants were closed which limited lunch options.
