Small forest and tranquil lake, good water quality, and nice walking tracks
If you like the outdoors and like nature this is a great place to be. Easy and free parking for car and bicycle. Restaurant for drinks and something to eat. As it is autumn it was to cold for a swim. But the water looked very clean and of great swim quality. Nice walking paths and we saw a lot of different birds and even a hare. Also a great place to have a outdoor picnic. We will go back but also in the summer. So we can lay at the sandy beach or at the grass area. Very nice place to go to.

great place for out door recreation, beach, swim, picnic, walk and places to eat/drink
The recreational center 'Maarsseveense Plassen' is a great place to go and have fun in the sun. The place consists of a big body of water that you can swim and the land around that is divided into two parts. There is an official (paid) pool called 'Strandbad' (beach pool) that is open roughly between mid April and mid September (depending on the weather) with a sandy beach. The entrance fee is similar to what you would normally pay for an indoor pool pass. The other part is free to the public but does not have the sandy beach at the side of the water (more like a lawn). There is even a separate part for naturists, that you can only get to via a separate road/entrance. That part has an entrance fee as well. This center is ideal for relaxing in the sun for young and old. On sunny warm days the place gets packed. It is as close to the real beach as you can get as an experience and you don't have to drive all the way to the coast of Holland. There are several places where you can go for drinks or have a meal. Ample parking for up to 3000 cars.
