Don't miss if in the area
We visited The Discovery Place in Union City. After hearing about the lake formed by the earthquakes of 1812, we wanted to see it. It was a little bit of a drive but well worth it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There is a visitor center and nature building. We also noticed cabins and campsites. The boardwalk was delightful. Interesting nature walk. A bonus was the rescued birds of prey. We saw 3 eagles, a hawk and owls. All birds all rehabilitated and released. Only birds that can't be rehabilitated are kept. We regretted we didn't have more time. Would have enjoyed the boat ride offered in the late afternoon and evenings. The park is free and but there is a charge for the boat ride. They book up fast on the weekend. The 5 mile drive through the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge was recommended. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for that, but look forward to seeing it on another visit.

Nice visitor center with staff that are helpful
Stopped here to get advice on things to see in the area - especially where to find eagles. The staff member was so helpful and provided and map with places to see eagles and their nests. The drive through the refuge was great. Saw lots of wildlife, eagles nests, and eagle.
