Small, compact, yet informative museum. Very nice high school volunteer gave us information in English. We learned about the 1 dinosaur that was returned from Texas after a lawsuit.

    The age of dinosaurs
    Unfortunately the museum itself is currently closed for much needed renovations so a Dinosaur Hall (with small amount of display material) is the only option. Located in the previous Lenin Museum, there are some reconstructions, dinosaur eggs, a large skeleton.......but all depicting a pivotal discovery in palaeontology and an aspect of Mongolian tourism which deserves a greater, heightened focus/emphasis. The young guide who spoke excellent English and provided narrative to the scant written labels confessed she had become a dinosaur fan since starting to work in this environment. Even if you are not "into dinosaurs" it is worth a visit to provide another element to your Mongolian visit and, of course, if you are visiting Flaming Cliffs in the Gobi this is a must see pre or post.
