Leaning Tower and the Duomo in Pisa amazing
It is called the Leaning Tower or the Tower of Pisa but actually it was never used for defending the city; it is part of the religious complex in the Duomo Square and acts as its bell tower. It played an active role in both human and divine timekeeping with its seven bells – one for each musical note – the largest of which, cast in 1655, weighs a full three and a half tonnes! It is known throughout the world for the beauty of its architecture, for its extraordinary tilt, which makes it an authentic miracle of statics, and for the fact that it stands in the universally renowned Piazza dei Miracoli, of which it is certainly the prize jewel. And this is why it is one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

Heard and seen so much from media. Time to experience it in person
This is a landmark which I had heard so much about since young. So when I visited Florence, I had to add Pisa onto my itinerary. Getting there from Florence is an easy 65 mins train ride from Florence main station and costs €8.90 per way. Once in Pisa Centrale station, exit from the main entrance and walk 30 m to your right and take the bus there. Just follow the hordes of people, you can’t miss it. Just get down when almost everyone else does. You can buy a €27 combo ticket which allows you to enter into all the attractions within the compound. Only the entrance into the tower is every 15 mins in a group and needs a time slot reservation. I bought the combo ticket at 10.15 am and only managed to get a last slot at 12.15 pm. It was all fully booked until 2 pm. You can bring an bag up, be it big or small. You can deposit your bag in the cloakroom for free when you have the combo ticket. The climb is not too physically challenging. The views from the tower is magnificent and it makes the climb worthwhile. Just do it if you can plan for an additional day when in Florence.

Leaning Tower and the Duomo in Pisa amazing
The Square of Miracles is easily accessed by bus from the main station in Pisa and it's the red line.(LAM Rossa) from bus stop 1 €1.50 and there are blue ticket machines outside the station. The bus takes approx 15 mins and you have to get off at Piazza dei Miracoli. The leaning tower and the cathedral area are free to visit and iconic photos can be taken. There is a ticket office where you can buy tickets for all the attractions and much cheaper than you might think. The cathedral is Free to enter but you need a tick from the office don't get conned into buying a skip the line ticket to the cathedral. To climb into the tower and up to the top there is a charge and the tickets can be purchased as before at the ticket office opposite the cathedral. Worth a visit to see these lovely buildings and then walk through to the numerous cafes and restaurants which are reasonably priced for food and beverages.
