The Cave House, Oklahoma, United States

Intriguing slice of Tulsa history!

The Cave House in a landmark in Tulsa. It was built in 1924, as a Chicken Restaurant. Built during prohibition, it was a place you could quench your thirst! It not only has quirky architecture, but it probably best known for its stories, full of interesting and sometimes amusing information. It is a great date, or family adventure, and as the owner I love to share it! It is best to call, or message ahead, as I do not have regular hours. Due to scheduling for private tours and groups, and because travelers request all days and times, I try to schedule according to requests as best as I can. The cost is $15.00 and kids under 13 years are $7.50

QUIRKINESS IN THE BEDROCK OF TULSA
If you’re in the mood for some extreme Tulsa tales in a quirky setting, look no further. Linda (the owner) engages you from the moment you walk in the door and is probably one of the best storytellers I have ever met in my life. One tale even made my arm hairs stand on end! I believe our tour was about 60-90 minutes for $20/person. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

    Very Unique House
This is a very unique house with a lot of stories to be told. The beginning of the tour is just sitting in the living room listening to stories, so if you have small children, they might get bored. Luckily the owner offered my kids some bubbles to play with! The house is small and filled with a lot of items, so be mindful with small children that might want to touch everything! The stairs to the upper floor made me very nervous getting my kids up and down them, but the owner has installed several hand rails to help. It was still quite the challenge to maneuver the stairs while holding my 23 month old in my arms. There is space for about 2 cars to park on the property, otherwise, you would have to park across the street at the park. Overall, it is a very unique house to see!
