    Unforgettable, mon cher
The Cerna Valley is a fairy tale place where you feel like a fairy tale character might show itself, a feeling I had almost the entire time I was there. The Cerna Valley is part of the Domogled-Valea Cernei National Park, which is easily reached from the spa town of Băile Herculane. There are is a large number of gorgeous hiking trails, all very well marked and easy to follow (with varying degrees of difficulty), in my opinion, best attempted during autumn (amazing foliage as well as significantly less of a crowd). I found the following trails to be the most stunning and worth the effort to walk: the (vertical) yellow stripe for Băile Herculane - Curcea Albă - Domogledul Mic Peak - Domogledul Mare Peak - Feregari Gorge - Băile Herculane, the Țăsnei Canyon trail marked blue cross and the trail going to Vânturătoarea Waterfall, marked red cross (last 2 trails start some 10-20 km outside of Băile Herculane from the road going towards Baia de Aramă).
