Stop here - Mountain Music, Info, and Hand Made Instruments

Any music lover can appreciate this music store in the mountains. But if you have an interest in knowing more about mountain music or an interest in buying a string instrument to play or begin to play don't miss this shop. I have purchased from Mike Clemmer and would not trade my wormy chestnut dulcimer for anything. It has a beautiful sound and finish. If you come in warmer weather months they gather on a Saturday night to what they call "The Picking Porch" all you need is a blanket or a lawn chair - concerts are free. Make this a part of your must dos when you come to Townsend.

    Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop, Townsend, Tennessee
This awesome little shop is located in Townsend, Tennessee. About a 30 minute drive from Pigeon Forge. It is owned by Mike and Connie Clemmer. The shop features beautifully handcrafted Appalachian Dulcimers, Hammer Dulcimers, Crafts, and many other unique handmade instruments. The owners are wonderful and take their time with you. My 9 year old daughter received a quick lesson in dulcimer. We really appreciated the time spent with us and plan on returning on our next trip to the Smokey Mountains region.

    Wonderful Shop
We stumbled upon this dulcimer store by chance. What a fun find! The owners are super friendly and will demonstrate the instruments in the shop. The dulcimers are beautifully hand crafted. Anyone interested in acoustic music should stop in if you are in Townsend.
