Fantastic ride

We reserved our spot several days in advance. We had 10 riders ranging from 6 to 48 years old. The younger kids had to ride their own horse. None of our smaller kids had ridden before and we were nervous. Audrianna (sp) was our guide. While lining up the horses they put our smaller kids up front closer to her. She was great and really talked to our kids while riding to make them feel comfortable. I felt like they really tried to pair riders up with certain horses. We did the 1 1/2 hour ride ($50 per person) which was muddy and hilly and fantastic. It was a great trail. The horses needed a lot of steering but we were warned of this in advance. I think it made the experience feel even more authentic. We will definitely visit again.

    We had a great ride!
We did the hour and a half ride. Most of the ride was in forested areas so it never got too hot. Our horses were well behaved except when they would try to sneak a snack off some bushes or grass! We had about 12 people in our group, my only complaint was we were way in the rear so we could not hear out guide. We go horseback riding every time we go to a National Park and normally they have a guide at the rear of the group too that also points out areas of interest. Also our guide kept stopping to look back and make sure we were all together which kind of interrupted the flow of the ride. Minor complaint, it was still a lot of fun. After the ride one of the workers offered to take our pictures on the horse with our cell phone camera. Much better than trying to get you to pay $10-20 for one they took like we normally encounter. Also the price to ride was much cheaper than other park areas we have ridden. Overall great time, all the workers were nice and friendly, will go again next time in the Smokies!
