Nice view of the lake on top !
It took us 2,5h drive from Lhasa. 1h is driving up the mountains until you reach between 4800 or 4998m (like written on the stone up). The views on the road are nice with wild yaks. There are few stops where you can make a photo with a yak or Tibetan dogs and buy small souvenirs. When you arrive up the view of the lake is nice and you can queue to make a photo with a stone showing the altitude. Better to take oxygen canister.

A gem
Yamdrok lake – stunning blue water on a almost desert mountain background... if the weather allows, the snow capped mountains are a complement to the beautiful scenario On the way, enjoy the view of the Lhasa river, and the Yaks – by the lake you can take pictures with a Yak – If you like it. No problem with the altitude (4,440 meters - 14,570 feet) Yamdrok is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet so I felt blessed to be able to visit it.
