We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. Plenty of room to meander and enjoy the grounds. Felt very lucky to go during the temporary neon art displays (only thru April 2022); very beautiful even during the day. Beautiful variety of plants and exhibits. Spent 2-3 hrs strolling the grounds. Great way to spend an afternoon. Worth the $8 admission/person. Plenty of free parking. PS – check out the rest of the park over by the Barton Springs Pool and the walk along the stream/river/lake.

A nice botanical garden with great views of the city skyline
We visited the Zilker botanical gardens in Dec’22 right after the attic winds moved through the area causing unusually cold weather. We visited with a family with young children and ordered tickets online as they can sell out. E paid $21 dollars for the whole family. The layout is pretty cool and they have about 18 gardens in total. E enjoyed the prehistoric and Japanese garden the best. Unfortunately allot of the plants were affected by the cold weather so a minority of the plants were dead or in a weakened dormant stage which certainly put a damper on our experience. It was a nice walk and our family walked away with some fantastic pictures and memories. Would recommend this for families and we were able to do this with a stroller although it did get tricky at times.
