UNIQUE AND HUMBLING

Very interesting Cemetery. Masons Cemetery with a number of old Headstones. Yellow Fever victims in mid-1800s buried in mass Graves. Humbling to think of the loss in Brenham and the area during this time

    Sad history here
This cemetery is totally opposite from the one nearby in Chappell Hill. It is in total disarray and has been vandalized. The sad part is the section of mass graves from the yellow fever epidemic of 1867. It is marked with crude crosses with a plaque stating that fact. There are many broken headstones and some cool rusty fences. It is worth a visit to pay your respects.
