Visit during Thanksgiving break

Visited during Thanksgiving break on a drizzly Sunday morning. The museum wasn’t open yet for the day so we just strolled the grounds. They were beautiful and we had it almost to ourselves. There were all sorts of roses in all different colors with a backdrop of water features and fall colors. Free admission and pet friendly to boot! We only stayed 2 hours because we had to continue our road trip but I would have been happy to spend 1-2 more hours there.

    Beautiful landscaping
Very nice museum depicting the rose queens of the past and the parades. Lots of gorgeous gowns, tiaras and pictures. A couple of movies to watch. The roses were not blooming when we were there. The 14 acres is laid out very artistically and must be incredible when in bloom. A few roses were peaking out. Redbuds and dogwoods were everywhere as well as seasonal flower beds. This is Tyler's civic center and it is free.

    Lovely Garden
We enjoyed our walk through the gardens. By June the place is fairly hot, and some spots are not very shady. Probably a visit in spring is best and more plants would be in bloom. There are plenty of roses, but there are plenty of other flowers and plants too. The space is well laid out, with fountains, ponds, and different areas. Viewing the rose garden is free. There is also a small museum for a small fee, but we did not have the time to view it.
