Golf course needs work and so does the clubhouse deli

The golf course is starting to look better but it still needs a bit of work. The fairways need maintenance and the greens do too! The positive is they are moving the pins fairly regularly. The golf carts are in good shape. The deli is very unorganized and the food isn't all that good. The staff is really nice though.

    Neglected and Tired
The website states that Twin Rivers is the best golf course in the Waco area. Clearly the website is not up to date. My husband was looking forward to playing on a 'good course with fast greens and challenging holes'. When we arrived at Twin Rivers to just hit a few balls, we were shocked to see dry grass on the fairways, greens, and at the t-boxes. We learned that management only waters the greens once a week - even in a 90+ degree week. Even the practice putting surface was dry and rough. To say the least, my husband cancelled his tee time. The outside of the clubhouse appeared as though it is in the process of being updated because the columns were primed white and there is white over spray onto the beautiful stone facade. It is too bad, because the clubhouse could be really special with the right design upgrades and finishes. The interior was a bit tired and worn. It's too bad to see a neglected course inside a great residential development.

Only $25.00, but that’s too much.
We played it on Saturday after thanksgiving 2018. It was $25.00 and included cart. Course is in terrible shape. I suspect it has received no maintenance in months. Leaves and crap on the tee boxes were terrible. At least blow them off or mow them. The greens were in horrible shape. Very little grass, which your putt would bounce between the grass clumps and dirt. The hole on the par 3 on the back was so bad, the cup had sank and was tilting. There was a sunken hole around the cup. Very little grass on several fairways. I seriously doubt that any college or school would have this as their home course as I read in another review. We played the other public course on the Friday before and it was fine. The Twin Rivers course layout is really nice and could be amazing, but the lack of maintenance or any upkeep makes it unplayable. Seriously, I doubt that anything has been mowed or cleaned in months. Had We paid more than $25.00, we would have asked for our money back. There were only two choices in Waco, so we booked it. Now there is only one. I play every week, and don’t mind public courses that aren’t perfect, but this course is not playable unless they put a little maintenance into it. Btw, there were two groups of 6 in front of us?
