    Unexpected Modern Luxury Golf Resort
Unexpectedly Modern Luxury Golf Resort We stayed at The Woodlands Golf Resort for 4 nights for our March Golf Vacation. The resort is modern luxury and better than my expectation for a non big chain resort. It was our first trip to Houston. The Woodlands Resort has a perfect location about half an hour from the airport ,1 hour from downtown Houston and only 10 minutes drive to Market Street full of upscale great shops and restaurants. The hotel offer free shuttle to market street and the mall as well. I stayed in the Concierge level with the golf view of hole 18 on Panther Trails where the green is a the small island. It is a great golf course. Another golf course is The Oak Trail and both are in great shape and challenging. Thank you to Mr. Tate, the front office manager, who upgraded my room to the concierge level with a great deal. Jessica at the front desk gave me the room with a balcony and golf view the next day. Thank you Lynda, the front, for early check in for my sister. We had a great breakfast every morning (e.g. English muffin egg sandwich, bagel, smoke salmon, muffin, yogurt, fruit with all day coffee, soda, juice). From 3 - 8 p.m. we got hot appetizers & snacks which could be a light dinner for someone and cakes & cookies from 8 - 8.50 p.m. The concierge team are very nice, Nataly, Ayala, Cameron, all of you were excellent. We had dinner in Robard’s steak house one night which was good. One night at the Bistro where the service was good but not the food. I like the restaurant close to the clubhouse with a nice view of the golf course. We played golf every day except the last day where there were a tournament but it was fun to see the scramble from our balcony. Max at the pro-shop was awesome. He took care of us well. I got to play 2some with my husband all 3 days. We got a chance to wave goodbye to Max on our last day when Max drove the golf cart passing us. Thanks again Max. There are a lot of activities in Woodlands such as golfing, biking, swimming and paddle boat. My 9 year old nephew had fun both days ( my sister stayed only 1 night). The resort provided all full day activities for children. The lazy river was fun though the water was quite cool but my nephew loved it. The middle pool is heated and it is big enough for our daily swimming routine exercise. The children also enjoy playing with the turtle by the pond ! Thank you The Woodlands Resort’s team for making our stay a memorable one.

    Fun and challenging course
The clubhouse is nice with a full locker room. The service is your typical retired guy at golf courses. He had a bit of trouble running credit cards. The course is the main draw. The course is hard. If you are in the woods you will never see your ball again. It pays to stay in the fairway on this course. Holes are well laid out and nice changes in elevation. The island green is very scenic and challenging.
