The Midland Army Air Field Museum, Texas, United States

4.5 (5 reviews) Spent Ranking #13 in Midland Military Museums • History Museums

Excellent museum - wonderful airplanes

This is the 3rd or 4th Air Museum I have visited and I enjoyed chatting with the volunteers who told me the history of the planes. There is also a great exhibit about George Bush and his submarine rescue after being shot down in World War 2. Outside is also a great exhibit of aircraft used in the Vietnam war. The museum is free but a donation is appropriate.

    Excellent museum
My son and I spent about 3 hours wandering around this Museum and I was very impressed with their display. The space is where they trained bombardier's in World War II for bombing missions on airplanes. They have a large selection of vintage airplanes. They have a large display on the development of the bomb sight that was used in World War II. They also have a ariad showing the history of George Bush as a World War II pilot. The museum is free to go but they accept donations for the upkeep of it. The volunteers that run it are very knowledgeable and I enjoyed visiting with him.

    A True Midland Gem
Fantastic museum that too few people take advantage of. Vintage aircraft and history, wonderful exhibits of WWII, memorabilia from the Greatest Generation. I wish they could find a better way to promote this museum because it is on par with The Petroleum Museum for historical value and information.
