Contemporary arts in a historic home

The mission of the Arts Council is to nurture and strengthen the artistic, cultural, and educational quality of the community and surrounding area. We are dedicated to raising awareness in the region through our community art events and venues. The Arts Council is comprised of two historic buildings: The Kemp and The Forum. The buildings are official Texas historical and Wichita Falls landmarks. The Kemp (1300 Lamar Street) was built in 1917 as a public library. In 1998 the derelict building was leased to the Arts Council and currently the building and grounds house 5 gallery exhibit spaces, three classrooms and an auditorium. Guests, patrons and students from across Texas and Oklahoma come to The Kemp and The Forum to enjoy live entertainment and performances, local and national visual arts exhibitions, and outstanding arts education classes.

Wonderful hidden gem in downtown Wichita Falls
The Kemp Center is a beautiful gem in downtown Wichita Falls. With rotating indoor and outdoor galleries, it's a great spot to stop each time you come through Wichita Falls because there's always something new! They have a gallery featuring professional artists, a gallery featuring developing artists, one for beginning artists, and a lovely outdoor sculpture garden that is nationally renowned. Don't miss this FREE attraction in Wichita Falls. Wonderful for locals and visitors!

    MORE CULTURE PLEASE
I recently went to a friends wedding there, It was beautiful ..i wish they had more dancing space, but that's more of my wife's opinion. I would think there would be more "art" there and not as many "landscape paintings",,not the best but certainly not the worst place for "art"
