Very scenic drive, easy and great view

This Texas Mountain trail includes much more than route 62 and 54 that we were on. We drove for an hour on Texas route 54 and only saw two other cars! I have posted pictures of the views we encountered. There were also historical markers but we did not stop to read them.

    Great Mountains to See
    We made the trip from Van Horn to Guadalupe Mountains. This is a beautiful drive that accentuates Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas. We had two of our 3 cars stop for gas at the US 90 exit while the third just kept going. I had wanted us all to meet at the El Capitan pull over for pictures so I call and told them they would see a big mountain where they needed to stop and the person said they saw it despite being just out of Van Horn. I told them no way. Then I got there and you can see Guadalupe Peak nearly 40 miles away.

    Very scenic and easy drive
    We were one parts of the Texas Mountain trail after leaving the Big bend area migrating back up to Michigan. Great views all around and easy driving.We will repeat.
