Train fans must stop!

Well organized, friendly staff, clean building. Loved the miniature train setup, such attention to detail. Enjoyed sitting at the windows & seeing the trains roll in too! Such great interactive exhibits for old & young alike.

    Railroad History
If you love Railroad history then you'll love this place. The museum is very small but has many artifacts and some are interactive. We were a bit disappointed that the passenger trains weren't open but were told they are only open on certain days. We still enjoyed our visit. They do have a small gift shop as well and admission is only $4. Definitely worth a quick stop if you're ever in temple.

    Interactive
First it’s an incredible building, so glad it’s been preserved. It’s also an operating Amtrak station. But the actual museum is amazing too. Almost all the displays had interactive components and most were actual artifacts. My kids typed telegrams on an old school manual typewriter, sent Telegraphs using an actual working Telegraph, and used actual conductor light to send messages. They also had a hobo symbol scavenger hunt that the kids LOVED. The temp exhibit was Harpers Weekly illustrations that I really enjoyed as well. We were there about two hour and never went outside to see the actual trains. It was 100 degrees that day and just didn’t want to sweat it. It’s a great little museum.
