Taste Buds Kitchen, Texas, United States

Cooking with Wine

Taste Buds is a good, clever option for couples/dates. Most ppl at our event seemed paired up. This isn't culinary school; more a casual/fun atmosphere. Basic knife skills were demonstrated, but focus is more on very basic food prep/mise en place. Recipes are dial-in well, and easily translate to home kitchen. Recommended!

    AWEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE
WEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE Please do not waste your time going here. From start to finish they have horrible cust service. We ordered 3 packages on Groupon (2 people per package) and the registration process was a mess. You have to go to their website, reg a profile then email them before your reservation is confirmed. We did this as a group except for 2 people in our group did theirs later on the same day. 4 of us got the same date the last 2 was denied (3 DAYS LATER). When we asked to switch our date so we can all go together, they tried to charge us a $5 fee per person (this was never listed on their policy with Groupon) they would NOT make an exception. Why not have a better registration process so you can tell if a party can't all fit??? So only 4 of us went to the cooking class and the chef was very unenthusiastic, even his story about how he became a chef for this company was depressing. The steak dinner is NOT worth the money it's a small iron steak and they only cook it one way which was medium (they don't tell you this until it's time to cook). The appetizer is a half a piece of lettuce with homemade salad. You only get one side which is mashed potatoes and the way they make it your mashed potatoes are cold by the time your steak is done. You have to share ingredients so you have to decide who's going to do what at your table instead of having your own set of ingredients (you have to share a batch of potatoes so I hope you like your potatoes the way everyone at your table does). The food was bland and they didn't use any special ingredients them what you already use at home (pepper, salt, garlic POWDER not fresh garlic) There is no fun to it...it was just 'do this do that' and then eat. The worst part was you had to eat STANDING UP on the SAME TABLE you preped your food on.
