Sunset Bowling Lanes, Texas, United States

Bowling, good family entertainment

I took two of the grandchildren bowling during Spring Break. Bowling is good--not weather dependent--as our weather is absolutely crazy from day to day! I didn't know the prices had gone up--3 people, two games + shoes = $31. Specials, I learned, were from 9 p.m. until closing! The young man waiting on my was very kind when I showed my shock! It wasn't that I couldn't afford it; I had just spent a chunk of change the day before. Anyway the kids had a great time. Nice established place that needs a little upgrading here and there. Best part: No more smoking allowed inside!

    Dark and Dank
This place is stuck in a weird place between very cool and kinda disgusting. Very cool because it is kind of like a trip back to the 70s, but it comes with all of the grime, smoke residue, and sweat of all of those years. I might have enjoyed my most recent experience more if I had brought my own shoes and bowling ball. Sticking my feet into the damp smelly shoes and having to stick my fingers into unknown stickiness in the bowling balls almost did me in. That being said, its a bowling alley. My lane was fairly well-waxed, the folks were friendly, and I had a good time. Plus, it's the only bowling game in town, so.... bring hand sanitizer and double socks!

    It is a bowling alley
It is what you'd expect. A typically bowling alley. Not unpleasant, but not anything amazing either. Only thing of note is the scoring computers are likely from the early to mid 80s, but still work fine.
