Spoetzl Brewery - A Fascinating Piece of Texas History!

Today’s Spoetzl Brewery is a far cry from the old tin shed where Shiner first flowed back in 1909. We think our founder, Kosmos Spoetzl, would probably be amazed at our state-of-the art Brew House. He’d also be happy to know we still brew every drop of Shiner right here in Shiner, Texas. Stop in for a tour and the first round is on us. And the second.

    Nice day to drink beer.
Very simple review. Parking is to the left front of the brewery. With summer vacations starting I would make a reservation on the web site it's free. Check in and pick the $20 or $50. The same tour all your paying for is the $20 get a glass and a bottle opener and the $50 you get a soft cooler with a six pack. You get three tokens to take to the bar for three drinks. You can take the beer out side to the beer garden or take it with you on the tour. If you want any drinks not shiner you will pay extra like water. Hint: Be nice to the bartender. What many people don't know is they have little cups that are used if you want to sample a beer. So instead of using a token and getting a glass of something you won't like ask for a sample first. You can take pictures just no videos. Also they don't sell food so eat before you visit.

    A well-run tour. A decent value. Interesting.
I toured the brewery with 3 other guys. We thought the $20 package was a really good deal, which included a tote bag, beer glass, bottle opener and tokens for 3 pints of beer. The tour started on time, and lasted about 40 minutes. There were 15-20 people in our group. We were there on a Saturday morning, and the common grassy area looked like there was a flea market going on, so it was somewhat hard to find a parking place. An interesting, multi-media walkthrough of the facility.
