Beer's cold, people are warm
This is a relatively new brewpub, Sockdolager's, and by itself it makes the trip to Abilene a success. Excellent beer, food, service, fun (we went on trivia night), and the staff is top notch. Friendly, courteous, and interested in what you like and what you think of the pub's services and features.

Worth the Stop
Was in Abilene and looking for some local brews, Sockdolager was definitely worth the stop. The location is a little out of the way, but it is a very open and accomodating space with good beer. Pretty busy on the night I was there, but the beer was served in a timely manner. Stout was very good...wish I had a little more time to try a couple others.

Good beer, good setting, good people, good vibes
Located at 833 S 1st St, Abilene, TX. Very good beer in a very comfortable setting in the SODA (South of Downtown Abilene) area. Revitalization is taking hold and Sockdolager appears to be a plank holder in the effort. A very comfortable place to enjoy a drink with family and friends, family friendly with expansive indoor and outdoor seating.
