Absolutely Beautiful Park

This was our first visit to the San Gabriel River and park but it won’t be our last. It is like a magical place hidden in the middle of a busy, populated area. The river winds around the park and even flows over a small rock formation to cascade down onto a swiftly moving river. There are soccer fields and baseball fields and gorgeous trees all around. It is so big and beautiful, that it is hard to believe that it is free. There are people running and watching/ playing various sports, but the park is so vast and peaceful, that you don’t notice anything but the beauty surrounding you.

    An all time favorite
This is one of the best reasons to live in Georgetown! The park offers walking/bike trails, gardens, baseball fields, the recreation center, community center, disc golf, fishing, great playgrounds, bird watching, people watching, flowing water and more! If the climate would just cooperate and stay between 70 and 80 degrees year round, it would be even better. So, next time you are in Georgetown stop at the park and take a walk along the river and enjoy!

a great visit each season of the year
There are multiple access paths to the river ... I usually enjoy the city park on the river just east of Austin street. a great swimming hole and fun at the cascade over the dam. nice picnic shelters, great parking
