    Beautiful Texas Beach in Rockport.
This is a great walking beach, probably about a mile long. The beach is clean with numerous palapas planted on the beach, and several covered picnic tables in the grassy area behind the small dunes. The water is usually clear, flat, and great for floating. (We say usually because it was extremely windy on several days during this visit, which made it choppy.) The water is very shallow, which allows for wading a long way out from shore. This was our third trip to Rockport. We've gone to the beach during the weekdays each time, and found the beach nearly empty in both May and September. Rockport Beach is a city-owned Beach that is well worth the $10 per car/day entry fee. We purchased the $40 annual pass on our first visit in May 2021, and it paid for itself on that first visit. We made five visits in five days. We used it again for four more visits to the beach in September 2021. We bought another annual pass for 2022, and hope to return in September.

Nice beach and very shallow water
My husband and I always enjoy a walk along Aransas Bay at Rockport Beach Park. We always park just outside the entrance and walk the beach into the park. If you drive into the park, the cost is $5 a day ($20 for one year). There is plenty of parking inside and outside the park during off season. I am not sure about the summer months and spring break. The water is very shallow, about 2.5 feet deep for hundreds of feet from the beach. The waves are small. The park offers sand volleyball courts, some picnic tables, a few grass covered huts for shade, restrooms, a few BBQ pits and a fishing pier. There were no chairs and no benches. The park is located between the gulf (Aransas Bay) and a small saltwater inlet on the bayside. Bird watching was good there a few years ago but no more except for sandpipers and seagulls. This is the best beach in Rockport. The beach is open 7 days a week, Sunday through Monday 6am-11pm and Friday through Saturday 6am-12pm.
