    Historic Depot and Railway Exhibits
We knew that the Railway Museum would be closed since we were in town on a holiday (and it's only open on Saturdays, admission $3-5) but we are railway fans and wanted to see the Orient-Santa Fe Depot built in 1910. We were in the neighborhood visiting Fort Concho so we just walked over through El Paseo de Santa Angela Park (about .2 mile) to admire the building and rolling stock parked outside. The depot building is attractive and well-maintained. We enjoyed the "Early Public Transportation" murals across the street as well. We're happy that this important period in our country's history is being preserved for future generations and hope that we can visit again on a Saturday to see the indoor exhibits.

    Great Visit
We had three main attractions in mind that we wished to visit in San Angelo. This was the best of the three. The volunteers are knowledgeable, friendly and informative. This facility with its museum of railroad artifacts, model train exhibits and great docents/volunteers makes it to the top of the list of things to see in San Angelo. Goodfellow FAB and Fort Concho are now a much lesser attraction now that we have seen the RR Museum. It would be great to see them to expand their exhibits.
