Glad we were able to see it and drive over Piano Bridge

It was a really cool bridge with a great history. Nice that we have things like this. We were fortunate, the Painted Church that was close by was supposed to have been not available for a tour. We saw some folks standing outside the church and decided to stop and check it out. Good thing cause it was open and available to view. The drive from the church to the bridge was really pretty.

    Lovely Country Bridge on CR480 near Painted Church
    During our tour of Painted Churches in the area, our tour guide took all the back roads in the county. On County Road 480, near the Dubina St. Cyril and Methodius church lies the Piano Bridge. As I was with a bunch of photographers on this tour, we had to stop. It is a really neat 1885 old iron bridge over a nice creek. Worth a few moments of your time if in the area to see. Bet a bunch of wedding/engagement images are made on this bridge.

    Historic bridge crossing made me feel like a kid
    We were on the Painted Churches tour headed to Dubina and our Chamber Docent, Nina, gave us some history of this bridge before approaching and while driving over (and enjoying) the bridge. It's an historic truss-style bridge from the 1880's. We were so pleased that the folks around Schulenburg cared enough to preserve this piece of history.
