Step back to 1884

This was an interesting bridge to visit and walk across. It’s great that the citizens of Denton County chose to preserve it, and it was rather amazing to learn the bridge, built in 1884, only ceased operations in 2001! Our visit here was well under 30 minutes. There was a gravel parking area and the bridge was quite close by. Other than walking over the bridge there were some walking trails but we didn’t take the time for those on this visit. We did see some people fishing and kayaking and it appeared to be a popular spot for locals.

    Creaky Old Bridge
I like visiting old bridges that have a history. This is one of those places, plus a walking/horse trail. You can't drive across the bridge, but you can walk across and take in the history. It is easy to access with parking close by. There is a walking trail too, if you want to take a little hike. I have seen people fishing under the bridge. Worth a visit.
