Fall Colors on Caddo Lake - Spectacular Sunrise Boat Tour
Aaron Applebaum took my husband and me out for a sunrise tour of Caddo Lake on a beautiful, chilly November morning. Our aim was to take photographs and we got some absolutely brilliant ones. The tour was simply fantastic! As soon as we boarded, Aaron headed directly east so we could catch the glorious sunrise. He worked the boat slowly up and down the treeline so we could get our sunrise photos in a variety of backdrops. As soon as the sun was fully up, Aaron took us on a full and complete tour of every area of the lake. It was amazing how different the scenery was in the various bayous! All during the tour, Aaron was continuously telling us stories of the history of the lake. His love for the area and his love for his work shines through and we felt enriched from his company. He put us on some beautiful birds too! I highly recommend Mystique Tours and Captain Aaron for an unforgettable experience on beautiful, mysterious Caddo Lake!

The Sunset tour is fantastic made possible by a very knowledgeable guide
Two of us took the Sunset Tour for $100. Our guide grew up as a local boy so he was very well informed about lake and the community. His boat is docked at a small waterfront property that he is in the process of purchasing. It is very run down and he plans to rehab it when the sale is complete. But he runs a great tour peppered with local knowledge. He knows how to meet the needs of photographers. During sunset he changed locates three time to meet the changing sunset conditions. We got some great shots. We learned too late that we were better times of the year to do the tour. In late April the trees had not yet recovered from their winter "sleep". Had we come a few weeks later we would have caught them with green foliage ! And in the Fall they turn a brilliant orange. Too bad for us! But we still got some great pics.

Private Lake Caddo Tour
My wife and I had a private tour with Aaron Applebaum of Mystic Tours in May 2022 and were very pleased with the tour and the guide. The lighting would have been better for photography in early morning or dusk, but mid-day was the only time we had available, and even that made for a very good tour and we still got some good pictures. Aaron was very knowledgeable about the history of the lake and the whole area around the Texas-Louisiana border. I would certainly recommend Mystic Tours if you want to see Caddo. rwb513
