Very good to round out visit to the area.
We were spending two weeks birding in South Texas. This museum was great for helping us understand the history of the area and put much of it in perspective. First rate displays. Covers the history of the area from Wooly Mammoths through the indiginous people, to Spaniards, Texas Independence, and the modern era. You will be happy you went.

Much more than meets the eye
We visited during a weekend in February. Lots of activities going on. If you have children they will be amazed by the displays and you will be pleased with the history they learn about Texas, the Rio Grand Valley and the importance of the railroad. A true learning experience for the family. Well organized!
