Historic Old Race track!

This is a great inexpensive place to spend an evening, it is races and a car show, all in one for $10 /adult to enter, kids free! Awesome old drag strip with neat ambience, trees, cool cars an excellent concession stand, burgers are world class, and a snow cone stand w/best snow cones around!! A lot of fun for not much money!!

A Great Time for the whole family!
Little River Dragway is the oldest continually operating IHRA Sanctioned Drag Strip in Texas & Possibly in the entire USA. Just 8 miles south of Temple Texas, Near Little River Academy in Holland Texas it is less than 20 miles from Lake Belton. This Beautiful Historic part of the Texas Hill Country inspires a sense of Awe & with the sounds of Powerful Engines, The Wheel Standing, Rubber Burning action of the many custom built and historically rebuilt Dragsters from our time and the past 60 years screaming down the track side by side in runs that take less time than it takes to chew that last bite of your Hamburger or other item from the Snack Shop. It will take your breath away with the next two burning out at the start line the second they are away. There is truly something for everyone if you are the least little bit interested in The American Car Culture. Every week is a Race & Car Show combined. Some of the employees have worked there for decades & have great racing stories to tell as well as many of the racers have been competing here since their Father or Grandfather's first set the play pen up next to where they make their cars ready for Racing. On the whole almost all of the competitors approachable and unless they are in the midst of getting ready for the next round will be glad to answer questions or let you step in fro a picture with their Dragster. Racing in season goes on every Friday Night & Saturday all afternoon & Evening with the only stoppage being a rainy day. I have already been there several weekends this season & It's worth the drive from my home in Houston...
