Personal guided tour

For some one who did not know what was coming I was very surprised and pleased to have come to this museum. It is a shopfront and not busy. I was warmly welcomed and the curator gave me a personal tour of the site. The main emphasis is the high flying plans such as the U2 and the Blackbird, which were based locally. The exhibits were fascinating including genuine artifacts from the planes and photos showing what was seen in the Cuban missile crisis. Well worth a visit and a big hand to the people keeping this place alive

An amazing museum that tells us about high flying surveillance planes.
We were very pleased to have come to this small museum in a shopfront. We were warmly welcomed and the curator gave us a personal tour of the museum that features the U2 and Blackbird high flying surveillance planes, which at one time were based at Laughlin Airforce Base in Del Rio. The exhibits include genuine artifacts from the planes and photos showing what was seen in the Cuban missile crisis. Pilots from that era were there to answer questions. A wonderful place to visit with people who are keeping this museum and its memories alive

    Fantastic Visit!
This place is definitely worth the visit! They have all kinds of interesting artifacts. Lots of information on the Cuban Missile Crisis, Cold War, and the U-2 programs. They do not charge but you should definitely make a donation to help support this museum. Plan on spending at least a couple hours going through everything.
