CAUTION Families with Kids, This is FUN but stop at the City Shoot and get off.
Caution you can ruin a really fun experience if you don't respect the river. We are a family traveling with 3 children under the age of 10. They are average swimmers but still need life vests. A couple of tips It takes about a half hour to travel from the Landa Falls Tube rental until you reach the City Shoot. At the City Shoot the terrain of the river completely changes. There is a very big shoot (slide) and one small one. Read Below. 1. Invest in water sandals ($5 to $60) Kids watershoes at Wal-Mart are about $5 a piece for kids and about $15 for adults. If you are an adult and want some really good watershoes Body Glove makes a comfortable pair for about $50 to $60 dollars. We started at the Landa Falls Entrance. If you decide to challenge the water shoot I highly suggest you only take adults/children with you that are strong swimmers. The shoot is fast there are a lot of waves. When you reach the next part of the river after the shoot/slide the bottom of the river TOTALLY CHANGES. It's EXTREMELY ROCKY and the bottom is VERY SHARP. If you are not wearing water shoes you will feel PAIN. 2. Water proof case or package ($9.99 in most places) BRING YOUR CAMERA AND A BOOM BOX!!!!!! If you start at the Landa Falls Tube Rental Entrance the river is very calm up until the tube shoot. So enjoy taking selfies, family photos and videos. I got off my tube several time to swim to the side of the river bank where there are small cliffs to jump off and do canyon balls FROM. In some areas the river is about 10 feet deep. 3. Bring sunblock with you because it'll wash off fast 4. Life Vest I know it's common sense but the current in the river is strong and if you want to get into the river with your child and you consider yourself a strong swimmer you may still tire out quick. A life vest for yourself and child will make the swimming less stressful unless your name is Michael Phelps aka the greatest Olympian of all time :) 5. No storage for shoes, wallets, etc etc so...... Even more of a reason to get water shoes because there is about a two block walk from where you park your car to where you need to rent the tubes. 6. Watch your tubes closely We had one of our tubes stolen but thankfully the Landa Falls Tube Rental people gave us a replacement at no charge. COMPLIMENTS TO THE DRIVER ON 8/22 @ 7:00 PM Our family was very tired at stuck at the City Shoot Tube Rental Place. He was called or saw us standing on the corner and picked us up. Typically they don't do this but the driver was super nice and understanding. Our kids were thankful and so were we that we didn't have to walk back.

BEWARE AT THE END!!!!!
My sister, brother in law. And myself went this past weekend. Had a blast. Except for the end. The stairs were slippery with algae. I jumped off my tube which was a big mistake. It was deep ( it’s 13 ft). and the current was strong ( very) . I struggled to get to the stairs. I can swim but the current was pulling me under swallowing water several times. Thank God a man grabbed my hand and pulled me up. They really need a worker there to assist the swimmers. The river ride was good… BEWARE OF THE EXIT!!!! I suggest to get off before you approach it.
