Hidden Gem

Living in DFW, I really hadn't heard much about this lake. This is an undiscovered quiet lake which is a nature lover & fisherman's paradise! So many coves to paddleboard in & a wide open water area by the dam for skiing & tubing. What sets this lake apart are all the hills & very tall trees! Multiple RV parks on the water, & 2 food grills with live music make it a great destination! Right now the lake is like 'On Golden Pond', but I'm sure once this hidden gem will be discovered by more folks as words spreads of it's beauty!

    Wonderful Fishing Guide!
Our group of 3 adults and 2 youth hired Robert Baxter of Baxter's Guide Service to take us on an all day fishing trip. He was WONDERFUL. We enjoyed it very much. He knew the lake so well, and was such a nice person, making the trip a huge success. If you need a fishing guide CALL ROBERT! His number is (903) 352-9764. We will go back!!

Beautiful lake near Tyler; great sunsets
Lake Palestine is a very large lake southwest of Tyler, TX and is bordered by four counties: Smith, Henderson, Anderson and Cherokee. State highway 155 cuts across the lake with a mile-long bridge east of Coffee City. The lake is fairly stumpy north of the bridge so it is best to boat near shore and be careful. There are fewer stumps south of the bridge, but there are a few flooded forests there as well. If you plan to boat this lake, talk with a local (or buy a lake map) as hazards are not generally marked. The lake is best known as a fishing lake but every year there are more and more recreational boaters. The lake boasts several nice neighborhoods, two of which have associated country clubs. The lake does not have a commercial full-service marina so all boats need to be launched with a trailer. There are several public launches on the lake. There are several nice spots to watch the sunset and I recommend the entrance of Saline Bay south of the 155 bridge. There only two places on the lake which serve basic food (burgers, fried foods). Gas is available on the lake but it may not be convienent to your location given the lake is over 17 miles long.
