    Warm and wonderful
The few days I spent kayaking and swimming in the warm waters of the lake were a perfect holiday. The early morning jet skiers, pleasure boats and boats with water skiers were respectful of the kayak. Just checking out the great houses on the riverbanks was fun but there was also a lot of birds and deer to see.

We loved it so much we moved!
Lake LBJ is huge and constant level which was a blessing the last few years of drought. This year brought torrential rains and the flood waters made the lake a little murkier than normal but it is beginning to clear. We love the water sports we now have in our backyard, boating, fishing, jet skiing, tubing and skiing. I see kayaks and even sail boats sharing our water. Holidays and summer weekends can get busy but if you come midweek you will find smoother water and less competition for space. Marble Falls is the largest town. There are hotels, B&Bs, an RV park and house rentals to choose from Horseshoe Bay down to Kingsland. Horseshoe Bay has a nice resort. The weather is similar to that of Austin and San Antonio, but during the summer there is often a breeze off the lake that makes everything seem a bit cooler. Migrating path for many birds...geese, pelicans, swans. So happy to be here.
