Nice Spot

This was a nice place to get close to the Guadalupe River and do some hiking. We lucked out and were the only visitors there on a Thursday afternoon. Super quiet and full of many butterflies. You can stop on your way to or from Cave Without a Name.

    Shhhh keep it a secret
This is my favorite place to walk and train my dogs. It's also a great place to put your kayak in and head down river. It's a long journey to the bridge by water but you won't be regret it. It's amazing. They have bird and wildlife viewing areas complete with inside seating. The land is hard to find but very secluded which is why I go. The area is small but a great place to walk and walk. Some of the area by the river is quite steep and I would not recommend to an unseasoned hiker. There are two places you can walk down to the river without much effort. However, depending on river flow they are not always accessible. There are VERY steep incline areas that to avoid you must walk around on the "road." We get in some great walks and when we leave the dogs are wiped out. They don't provide poop bags so please bring your own and pick up after your pet. There is not always someone on site so make sure you take a cell phone as it's pretty isolated out there. There are portapotties that are handicap accessible. The paths are well marked by the main office area. The area is relatively small so no worries, you won't get lost. I honestly hate to provide a review because I don't want it to get popular.

    A very quiet, peaceful place
I visited here for a couple of hours on a Wednesday afternoon. The river is very nice but there are no long paths next to the river, but still good to see. I only took one other path for a short distance and I found the place to be peaceful and very quiet and far from the city.
