Kokernot Field, Texas, United States
4.5 (23 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #2 in Alpine Arenas & Stadiums
Historic Old Time Ball Park.
As a fan of baseball I drove to Kokernot Field to see this historic place. Built in 1947 it maintains that vintage feel with wooden seats in the grandstands & original local stone construction throughout. The outfield dimensions are major league with center field at 415 feet and red clay from Georgia on the base paths. The field is used by Alpine High School, Sul Ross University & The Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs. A new scoreboard will soon be added. If you are a baseball fan you should plan a visit to Kokernot Field. My next visit to the Big Bend area will included a baseball game here.

Nice View to Watch Baseball
Kokernot Field is described by Sports Illustrated as “Best Little Baseball Field in Texas (or anywhere else).” The views from the stands are excellent with the mountains in the background. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but the historical background with Mickey Mantle and Satchel Paige playing there makes it look vintage instead of rundown.

A Classic Historic Ballpark
Kokernot Field is a "must visit" for anyone who loves ballparks or baseball. This historic stadium is a wonderful place to watch a game. If you love baseball or ballparks it's worth the drive to Alpine just to catch a game here. This is classic baseball at its best in an historic, unique setting. Framed by the mountains and the town, it's beautiful as the sun is setting. Go and soak in the history of this historic field. It'll be a game you won't soon forget.
