Neat part of history

If you're in to the east texas history, check this little place out tucked in to the piney woods of Cherokee county!! The monument there is amazing with a trail leading down to the old home place!! i was able to take some pretty cool pics!

    Interesting History
Somewhat difficult to find. Interesting to read old grave markers. Doesn’t seem it’s being kept up by state which is too bad.

    Lonely Place
This is a lonely, quiet site where the worst settler massacre by Indians in Texas took place. This is on a dead-end back road that's hard to find if you don't have real good directions. There is a large monument and a number of graves. I spent 30 minutes just looking around and taking pictures and never saw or heard another person. From the intersection of Hwy 69 & FM 855, go west on FM 855 about 2.6 miles to FM 3405. Turn left & go 0.4 miles to FM 3409. Turn right & go about 0.2 miles. Keep left & the road becomes FM 3411. Continue on FM 3411 for about 1 mile (go past the Larissa CME Cemetery) to a road on the left with a green gate & big boulders on either side. Go through the open gate to the end of the road.
